From out of space...

Long time no see... about 8 months.
No, I did not plan to get away from blogging (which I love) but, somehow, life got in the way.
But, well, one had to come back, eventually. Right?
And after a few unsuccessful tryouts, here I am.

Let's see what we've missed out since Semptember 2012.
I saw the Berliner Ensemble perform (Lulu and The Three Penny Opera) directed by Robert Wilson and it was AMAZING. (Berliner ensemble performance checked out of my to do list)
Alonso did not win the F1 championship (even if it was very very very close), and I was really upset.
Had an unexpected and very pleasant visit from France (always miss my French friends), and now I have one of my best friends from my French University who's here in Brazil.
I turned 30 last December, and the world did not end in 21/12/12 (although turning 30 was quite close to it a few days earlier... lol)
Went to Bahia for new years on a quiet family party.
One of my childhood best friends got married and I cried my eyes out!!
Went to spend "carnaval" (mardi gras) in NYC with my french BFF big brother who I miss so so so so so much and we had a blast under the snow storm. Opera at the Metropolitan also got checked out of my to do list.
Nina was born! She is the cutest and she's one of my best friend's baby, so I feel I can call myself an aunt if I want to lol. And I'm longing for us to have a more accurate schedule compatibility, so I can spend more time with her and I already fantasize about how is it going to be years from now. :) (btw, if you read Portuguese, you can fallow her and her mommy's adventures here).
Joined a gym (the place where I don't belong) and started swimming again (4 times a week). I know all about the "no pain no gain" stuff. Hate the gym! But must keep going!!!
Work's crazy as always. (but I still love it) I'm crazier than ever! (and becoming a facebook expert. Watch out Zukerberg!!!) (if you have facebook, here it is)

Save the date...

Last Saturday we went to the park nearby to shot same save the date pics for my friend's wedding, next year... 

We have a lot of digital images and are making some photobooth style prints... 

These are just the rest of the black and white roll I had on my OM...

It was a pleasent sunny morning and when I had a great time looking at the images (specialy the non digital ones) and looking back in time...

Can't believe it's Friday again! Time's flying so fast...

Still no plans for the weekend... But I can't wait for it!

Yay !!!

Finally had time to go and develop my films...

I got at the office this morning, put the CD into the computer and, for my surprise,  found that the old film I had on my Holga was from Paris… more than a year old…when I climbed the Notre Dame with my mom… (Quite a challenge I must say)

Well, there were only 3 pics in it, and they’re weirdly exposed. Besides that, they’re a bit damaged for the year they spent inside the camera… but I like it. I think this is what makes film photography so real.

And then, I think they go along pretty well with my current Paris nostalgia… (Sorry, I’ll never get over it! And it’s fine… I don’t think I want to.)

PS. I’m just pausing the USA pics… still have a couple of posts of NYC that I wanna share… SORRY!!! ;o)

it is nice to show your home town to people, specially when you were not born in the most turistic of places (well, actually my city is the least turistic place on earth)... But yet, you get to experience it as if it was something new and exciting... Almost as if you were borrowing someone else's eyes and background.
No matter where you live, I strongly recommend! 

new old stuff

Felt a bit like Tina, turning old boring furniture into cool new stuff!!!
This weekend I git into my desk - wich was old, dull and grey from my dad's office that he brought home when I came to spend summer vacations here in Brazil but had to work on my "mémoire" for my Master.
Anyway... it feels somehow good to be, FINALLY, setting myself at "home".
Next week I hope to have more "craft" to show you. What do you think of this one?

WOW!!! do you guys even remember me?
I know it's been quite awhile... but I've been "away" from many things this past few months... 
I'll leave the update for the next post for I don't want to ruin the beauty of our rainy cold Monday spent in the kitchen learning to make macarons... (yes! I miss it very very much! fruit de la passion chocolat from pierre hermés was my favorite)
Well, ours was no "la durée" or "Pierre Hermés" but it was our first try... but then again, no one can ever do wrong when it comes to chocolate! I'm sure we'll improve and soon enough we'll be having soft and yet crusty "caramél au beurre salé"... 
can't wait!!!!!!!! :o)
